Now, tell your brain the specific color that corresponds to each individual Chakra. Our consciousness moves faster than the speed of light. If we will the energy of love, our body will be filled with that energy in an instant. If you need healing energy, visualize the golden light of healing… and your aura will immediately shift to the color gold. Create a button inside your brain that you can press to elicit a immediate energy response throughout your body.

Bright, solid red symbolizes strength of life force energy. Red is also the color of the earth, which is the source of all other earth energies. Focus on the first Chakra and commune with her energy for the strength to forgive and the will to be courageous. You will acknowledge and love yourself, with overwhelming passion for life. This passion will make you shine brightly in this reality.

Passion… Courage… Strength… Decisiveness… Forgiveness…

Call forth these fundamental energies to the Hwe-um. Feel the energies seep into your being.

“I live life with a passion.” “I have courage and strength.”

“I am decisive and forgiving.” Breathe in… And out… concentrate on the Hwe-um. Breathe in, and the red energy comes into you through the Hwe-um.

Breathe out, and the red energy goes out through the Hwe-um.

With the breath, you feel the crimson energy envelop your body.

“A red rose rises through me, a wave of red energy cresting within my soul.”

In Full Bloom by Ilchi Lee:

Science is a human enterprise, so it is as susceptible to bias and accepted beliefs as any other area of knowledge. For years, brain researchers accepted the conventional wisdom about brain function: It couldn’t be improved. You had the brain you had developed in childhood and at some point in later life it started to decline. Unlike exercising your muscles and joints, they thought that no way existed to improve your brain’s fitness. Even as recently as the last 1990s, this was dogma, unquestioned by medical science, including gerontologists dealing with disease such as Alzheimer’s.

But does that really make sense? After all, your brain exists in a kind of dual state: it creates and focuses your mental life, but it is also part of your physical being. Should it be the only area of your body that is unaffected by the beneficial effects of exercise, diet, meditation, and emotional fitness? Fortunately, the answer to that question is no. The brain, far from being the inert information processor that mainstream science considered it to be a few decades ago, is a dynamic, fluid system that is infinitely adaptable if you make a consistent effort. The various centers of the brain are interwoven with a galaxy of intricate neural fibers, trillions of neurons forming hundreds of trillions of connections. This tremendously complex system is designed to receive and send signals, so it is only sensible to conclude that it is designed to adapt to the strength and consistency of those signals. It turns out that this is true, and this is one of the most exciting advances in our knowledge of the brain. Your brain possesses a remarkable property know as neuroplasticity.

The basic meaning of neuroplasticity is that like a muscle, the physical brain responds to consistent, rigorous stimuli in a way that does not simply grow new neural connections, but actually changes the structure of the brain in order to more efficiently use the incoming signals. This means that your brain is never too old to grow and adapt to new tasks and challenges. In fact, has great versatility.

An example can be seen in the brains of fast readers. In the brains of some people who read and absorb written information at high speed, time produces a change in the brain such that the pathways from the centers that process optical information to the centers of higher thinking become denser with neural connections, a sort of mental superhighway that according to ilchi lee allows the quickly acquired information to pass through the brain more quickly. Researchers have found similar changes in the brains of athletes and craftpeople.

Yesterday we had a DahnMuDo workshop in our region. It’s amazing but everytime I attend a Dahnmudo workshop I learn something new about the martial art.

This time I realized the importance of feeling each posture, not thinking about it. I realized that I had been in my head every single time I do unkiboyungun. Yesterday I let go of the thoughts and let my body take over. And to my brain’s amazement, my body could do the postures better on its own, without the interference of thought!

This week I started doing DahnMuDo practice every morning at 5:30. The difference in my day has been amazing! I feel so centered throughout the day. And when I do fall into emotion, I can more easily get back using physical exercise.

For those of you without a 21 day miracle goal, try DahnMuDo every morning for 21 days!

Ilchi Lee on Information Generation
From Ilchi Lee’s book The Twelve Enlightenments

The highest plane of activity in the phenomenon of life is “information generation.”  If information is created, or generated, then material substance comes into being to actualize the information.  Spiritual body can be said to consist of pure information.  In fact, the spiritual body is a synonym, in a way, to the “information body.”  An example could be this book, a dance or a musical performance, building a house or inventing a toy, or even forming an organization such as a nation or a company.  In fact, everything that you want to do or have ever wanted to do, have been a product of new or recycled information.  By generating information, you are creating the conditions under which your life exists.  The process of generating information and putting them to realization can be called, “creation.”  You are a “Creator.”

To really learn how to use your brain well, consider pursuing some kind of physical training in depth. Through rigorous training of this sort, you will learn to overcome limitations in your body, and your brain will gain the upper hand over the rest of your body. As an added bonus, you will gain increased confidence in many areas of your life. Any sort of athletic training will help you achieve this, but some sorts of training are especially effective at uniting the mind and body. Many ancient Asian practices, including yoga, tai chi, ki gong, and many martial arts, specifically seek to train the mind in relationship to the body. The word yoga in fact means “to unify,” and the goal is to bring together the mind and body as one. Numerous studies have confirmed the significant effect these practices can have on your brain to facilitate deep relaxation, improve coordination, and develop better focus.

Dahn yoga and Dahnmudo have definitely improved my brain!

Ilchi Lee on Civilization
From Ilchi Lee’s book The Twelve Enlightenments

To define “civilization” in simple terms, a civilization is the collection of tools and other things that make our lives more comfortable and bearable.  Therefore, the basic characteristics of a civilization depend on how the people define “life.”  When we define life only in physical dimensions and our value system reflect the limits of such one-dimensional definition, then our civilization is a “material civilization,” no matter how advanced the technology.  A civilization may boast amazing technological advances, enviable amounts of information, and proficient use of energy; however, if the ultimate beneficiary of the above is the physical body, then that civilization is a relatively limited civilization, despite its advanced expressions of achievements.

Brain education is our future

Ilchi Lee: How to Move Your Child’s Soul
From a translation of Ilchi Lee’s book The Power of the Brain

You cannot move your child’s soul with questions of survival, with concerns for what they will eat and what they will wear. Our souls, although invisible to the eye, tremble in pure simplicity before some lofty, noble purpose. If moved in this way, a child may even focus wholeheartedly on his studies, not even remembering to eat. If you cannot think of a good answer his questions, try asking a question of your own: “Hmm… Why study? You’ve come into this world because you have something to do, because the world really needs you. Together, let’s try to find out what that is.”

Breath is the most natural and immediate expression of life. Inhaling and exhaling, expansion and contraction–this rhythmic cycle maintains its specific and mystical order even in the midst of disorder. Breath is the epitome of perfect balance, cycle, and rhythm.
