While the economic recovery has seemed to slow down in recent months, this trend may have reversed in June, according to the latest projections from ADP Employer Services, which is often seen as a bellwether for the Labor Department's monthly figures.
According to MarketWatch, the 157,000 jobs projected to have been added by U.S. companies in June were more than double the predictions of most economists and significantly better than May's numbers.
Many economists are hoping that May's weak job report was simply a fluke.
"A number like this, while it is just one month’s number, suggests that really maybe what happened [in May] was a pause in the economic expansion and that, as we head in summer months, we are going to pick up some momentum," Joel Prakken, chairman of Macroeconomic Advisers, told the news provider.
The uptick in job additions in the U.S. could be critical for world change, as unemployment has had a devastating impact around the world.
The official Labor Department numbers come out on July 8.
