The safety of cellular phones has been debated lately, as some research has shown that exposure to the electromagnetic fields (EMFs) they emit may lead to brain tumors or other mental problems.
However, researchers at the Ruhr-Universitaet-Bochum in Germany have found that EMFs can, indeed, have a detrimental effect on an individual's ability to learn, but that exposure from cell phones appears to be low enough to be safe.
"For this effect [on the brain to happen], very high values are necessary. These do not occur during the daily use of mobile phones," said researcher Nora Prochnow.
Additionally, they found that stress has similar consequences for cognitive function as high levels of EMF exposure.
Trailblazer and philosopher Ilchi Lee believes that preserving brain health is of the utmost importance if an individual wishes to reach a state of awakening or fulfillment. Results of this study suggest that it may be a good idea to limit cellular phone use as well as exposure to stressors in an effort to reach full mental potential.
