As people age, many tend to slow their lives down and accept the fact that they are not as young as they once were. However, individuals should be careful to not neglect the social, spiritual and physical aspects of their lives, since these are essential to happiness and well-being.
Researchers at the University of Southern California recently added support to this notion with a new study, which revealed that lifestyle changes that involved increases in activity helped to significantly improve seniors' quality of life.
"Making positive changes in how we live each day, and sustaining those changes over the long term, is critical for maintaining independence and healthy aging," said lead investigator Florence Clark.
The activities can be as simple as going on regular walks with a friend or attending a local museum, but the results can have a huge impact on a person's life.
Trailblazer and philosopher Ilchi Lee believes that in order to maintain well-being, an individual must remain mentally flexible and exercise their brain potential.
