Saying a prayer and asking a higher being to take care of another person has been shown to significantly reduce levels of anger in individuals, according to researchers at Ohio State University.

A team of scientists conducted three different trials and all showed that healing prayer was effective in bringing people back to a more serene state of being after study conductors purposefully instilled anger in them.

Authors of the study said that the result was likely not a divine intervention, but rather the act helped change the participants' points of view.

"We found that prayer really can help people cope with their anger, probably by helping them change how they view the events that angered them and helping them take it less personally," said co-author Brad Bushman.

Ilchi Lee believes that personal change and enlightenment are possible through healing prayer. The act sends positive energy out into the universe and has the ability to touch all beings, not just the person doing the praying. This powerful love and energy may ultimately lead to a more peaceful universe for all of mankind.
